!!!Ligaments and Related Muscles

Learn to see ligaments as part of an active support system—not isolated structures. This course explores ligament fiber orientation, the motions that load each ligament, and the muscles that can either protect or tension the area. Recorded zoom course.

Description

Recorded Zoom Course!

Explore the functional relationship between ligaments, fiber orientation, muscles, movement, and joint control. We will examine ligament orientation and the specific movements each ligament resists, then identify the surrounding muscles that can dynamically protect, support, or place tension across that same region.

Participants will learn to:

  • Identify a few specific, presented ligaments, their anatomy, fiber orientation and understand how their direction relates to joint position and available motion and muscles.

  • Learn how to apply this concept to any ligament in the human body

  • Recognize which muscles and movement patterns may tension or lengthen a ligament complex.

  • Pair ligament assessment with practical muscle testing to evaluate active support, coordination, and potential overload patterns.

  • Apply findings to movement assessment, hands-on treatment, corrective exercise, and clinical reasoning.
